Vinita Deshmukh
Award-winning journalist Vinita Deshmukh has dabbled in investigative and public journalism for over three decades. She began her career with The Indian Express and is presently Consulting Editor of Corporate Citizen (www.corporatecitizen.in) business fortnightly magazine. She is also a Consulting Editor and Right to Information (RTI) columnist for Moneylife (www.moneylife.in), a financial e-news magazine. She is a published author too. Vinita has co-authored the book 'To the last bullet’ with Vinita Kamte who used the RTI route to investigate into what led to the death of her husband Additional Commissioner Ashok Kamte who was killed in 26/11 Mumbai Terror Attack.
Vinita Deshmukh’s other book, ‘The Mighty Fall’ is based on RTI investigations on the then President of India, Pratibha Patil’s land grab and Dow Chemical’s controversial research institute that came up near Pune. It’s Marathi version Satta Jhukli, won the Acharya Atre Award.
In 2017, she wrote a heart-tugging book ‘Grieving to Healing’ comprising poems and prose dedicated to her husband, Vishwas, who suddenly passed away due to cardiac arrest, while they were on their evening stroll.
