Dr Swati Popat Vats is a changemaker and educational activist. A teacher and a fierce administrator, she has worked hard to weave innovative methods of learning and teaching, while obliterating stress in the preprimary education system. She has been assiduous in making sweeping changes in pre-primary education in India, as well as in trying to get all preprimary schools in urban and rural India under the organized umbrella of the Early Childhood Association.
The founder director of Podar Jumbo Kids, Swati also heads the Teacher training wing of the company, is a Lead Assurer for the CACHE programme called the Podar Institute of Education, is President of Podar Education and President of Early Childhood Association (India) and the National representative for the World Forum Foundation. As the leader for Asia of the Nature Action Collaborative for Children (NACC) she works tirelessly to ensure that children in India grow up learning to respect nature right from the start.
Founder of the concept ‘Kiducation’ a brain-based progressive and child-friendly curriculum, she induced parents to participate in their child’s learning in every way.
She has reviewed and transformed many nursery rhymes while rewriting fairy tales to make them developmentally and culturally-appropriate for young kids. She has also has authored many books on children, while airing her views on parenting and education in a number of national and international publications like Savvy, Mother & Baby, DNA newspaper Bangalore, Parent Edge, Teacher Magazine. She is parenting expert for the Aditya Birla web portal and iDiva, the online newspaper of the Times of India. She is part of the Think Tank of Kidzania Global and is on the advisory board of many organizations like Angel Xpress, Fitterfly, while being an advisory board member for a number of schools.
