Sandeep Kumar Rana

An English Literature graduate from Kirori Mal College, Delhi University, Sandeep Kumar Rana is a screenwriter-director whose films deal primarily with the themes of empathy and interfaith harmony. Trained as a film editor at IGNOU and BVB, he has worked at ET Now (the Times of India Group).

 

The first film he wrote, Yaad Rakhenge Aap (2005), is listed in the Limca Book of Records for its experimental nature. Inspired by the Sachar Committee report, Rana’s Auzaar (2016) has been screened at the prestigious Third Eye Asian Film Festival, Los Angeles Cinefest, etc. His next, San 84 Justice?, set against the backdrop of the 1984 Sikh massacre in Delhi, is ready for release.

 

The Hungry Cow is his debut book. He is presently writing two screenplays for his next directorials, one a Hindu-Muslim love story, the other a Hindu mythological for animation.

 

He lives in Mumbai with his wife Renu, daughter Lavanya and son Aarav.
