Gauri Chauhan

A twelve-year old student of Convent of Jesus & Mary, Shimla, this is her first novel. It took me nine to ten months to complete it. I worked on this part time as I am a full-time student. So, I had to fit my writing into late nights and weekends. The whole time I had this sense that I was achieving something great, that this book will change my whole world. Being a student of class six, I learnt a lot from this co-authorship programme, especially from the renowned author Madam Minakshi Chaudhry. We had several meetings together where we used to discuss and talk about our story and different ideas. Our sessions were sometimes virtual and some face-to-face. I learnt many aspects about writing, the thinking process and how to create and recreate the plots.

The process of writing a book is different for everyone. For me it was wonderful. I am super excited and thrilled to work on a book based on my home town Jubbal, which is very close to my heart. I am also indebted to the team of ‘Keekli Charitable Trust’, for their Keekli’s Angles Co-Authorship and Mentoring Programme, as it helped me to pursue my passion of becoming a future author. I would like to thank Vandana Bhagra who always inspires and guides me.
